On the 21st of january we took a trip to Sunderland University to do a work shop on print making, which was an amazing and fun experience the week before we had to digitaly create a stencil to use for this work shop and take with us to use.
Before creating the final prints we had to practice using the print making machine by creating a plane print, which was very interesting to use but was also very fun the image below was the practice print of just a plain red A4 square.
After creating the practice print the technician showed us how to use the machine to make mark making on a print, before we do are final stencils we used all sorts of different coloured paints to create the marks in the print we used spatulars, paint brushes, plastic forks and all sorts of others things that you could potentially use to create marks and effects in paint, we also used oil pastels to create lines and we could draw shapes on the print before adding the paint we even used talcum powder on the paper which stopped the paint touching parts of the paper, which creates these little white dots on the paper that all most looks like a snow effect as shown in the image below.
After alot of practice using the print machine and using different techniques, we were ready to do are final prints using the stencils we had pre prepared .The four images below are the prints that I created using the stencil that I had created using Adobe Photoshop which was also a new experience for me.

After doing the print making we got to have a look around the art studios were the students at Sunderland created their work. This was a lovely experience for use to have as we could get inspiration from the students work, on things we may be able to do with our work and get new ideas though not copying the work these students had created there was alot of beautiful work there that the students had created.
These are some photos I have taken of the work at Sunderland University.
